We’ve been trying the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link for Mum Central #gifted
We’re a family of allergy sufferers. So when Mum Central invited us to try the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link, which promises cleaner air we were pretty keen to give it a shot. Particularly when we learned that the average home can be up to five times more polluted than the air outside. Ew.
What is the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link?
In gross news, pollens, allergens and bacteria are everywhere in your household. If you’re a pet owner, like us, you can double your vulnerability to allergens, with pet dander (microscopic flecks of skin … ew) likely to be found in all the nooks and crannies of your home.
These allergens might not be making you any kind of sick that you’d notice, but they definitely aren’t helping your health either. This is especially true for a family like mine that suffers from hayfever, asthma and seasonal skin allergies.
To help clean up the air in your home, the Pure Hot + Cool Link uses a 360° Glass HEPA filter, which Dyson claims will capture 99.97% of the allergens and pollutants floating around your home environment.
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link promises to clean the air you breathe inside your home. As a bonus it also heats and cools you as you need. You can select your ideal temperature and the built in thermostat will maintain that for you.
The stylish looking unit claims to remove 99.95% of fine particles including allergens and pollutants all year round, making it ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers like us.
Plus, and this is one of my favourite features, it’s all trackable on an app #Beyond2000
You can track the air quality inside and outside your home using the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link app
We review the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link
First things first, the unit itself is not cheap. It will set you back around $800, and the filters are around $100 a pop too.
However we’re talking Dyson here, which means that you’re paying for quality. The filters should give you 4,000 hours of fan time each which you can monitor through the app too. So cool! Plus you get a two year warranty.
Now, onto the review …
What I’ve been most surprised with is the fan. It really does heat up and cool up the area. We have large open plan living, and despite the unit being quite compact an unobtrusive, it manages to heat up a large area quickly and consistently. Simply select your target temperature and the thermostat will maintain it. It’s the only air conditioning/heating device we’ve used this winter so far.
Another notable feature is the night time auto mode for your convenience and for your hip pocket.
How do we know it’s working?
We’ve definitely noticed less sneezing, wheezing and scratching. But is that enough to trust that the unit is doing what it says? Well, here’s the cool part, you can monitor your home’s air yourself in real time with Dyson’s iOS and Android app.
Setting up the app literally takes a few minutes and you’re off. Once connected, your unit will be listed under ‘My Dyson machines’ in your Dyson app, then you’re able to control it, adjust its settings and monitor your air quality simply.
You can see our home’s air quality after just a couple of days in the image above. It dramatically improved almost overnight.
If you can wiggle room in your budget for the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Link, I would totally recommend that it is worth the spend. The peace of mind knowing that we’re doing everything possible to keep the air our family breathes clean is priceless.
